By support they mean that it'll run and it is optimized. It'll do the exact same things and support the same things in both 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10. That's how their marketing department has been working in the last 5 years (a lot of people are very annoyed by it VMware is going Parallels).ītw, this doesn't mean that Fusion supports specific OS X features such as the new notification centre in Yosemite because they don't. Well VMware Workstation 12.5 and Fusion 8.5 is now available for download Both Workstation 12.5 and Fusion 8. They are exaggerating it because it's usually nothing more but improved support (in this case it is caused by hw version 11). VMware announced VMware Workstation 12.5 and Fusion 8.5 during VMworld 2016 in Las Vegas. There are some other features on that page they claim as 7 only which are already in 6. I have a standalone ESXi server (no vCenter) and I manage it either through vSphere wweb client or VMWare Workstation 12 (remote connection to server). Luckily the technicians on their own forums tell a different story (the one that both 6 and 7 support Yosemite as guest and host OS) which being backed up by users. You are just falling for VMware marketing talk on their product page. I just pointed out your information regarding Fusion 6 not supporting Yosemite as host/guest OS was incorrect because it does.
